Project Description

This project started as a bathroom conversion.  As we began to dig into planning and design, it was discovered that the existing portion of the finished basement was unpermitted and had to be added to our scope to bring everything up to code.  So, we had to add an egress and change the stairs to meet code requirements.  The city wanted us to tear out the existing living space, but it had a very nice built-in cabinet and entertainment center, so we devised a way to expose the existing framing and electricity without tearing everything down, all while saving our clients a boatload of money.  We also decided to finish the in-basement garage, enclose the utility room, and add a finished laundry room.  In that process, we discovered a buried crawl space that we added storage in to expand an already cramped garage.
